They say you are what you eat; if this is true, then Dakota is a cup of warm coffee. Dakota Mayfield is a 15-year-old freshman at Nevada Union High School in Grass Valley.
“I like going into town and getting coffee. I live all the way in Nevada City, so I have to drive down these kinds of roads.” Mayfield said in reference to the windy roads when getting to Nevada Union.
Mayfield expresses her lifelong love of coffee as coming from her mother. Growing up, Mayfield always drank coffee with her mother while her mother took care of her four children. Mayfield looks to her mother for inspiration in all parts of her life.
When she was asked about one thing she could wish for she wanted to “Probably to help my mom because she goes through a lot each day with all our kids. So I would try to help her”.
Mayfield has always been very generous. And she plans her future around this value of hers.
“My dream job is to be a psychiatric nurse,” says Mayfield. She is very nurturing, even taking care of her “two guinea pigs, two cats, one betta fish and two dogs.”
In the future, Mayfield sees herself going into college right after high school but then moving someplace outside the United States. She wants to dedicate her life to helping others and continuing to spread her kindness wherever she goes.
