Ever wanted to see an art gallery at school? Down at The Art Lab in D13, there were different art pieces where students’ Photography, Painting, Dioramas, and Ceramic pieces are on display. Such as the week of April 8th – 13th when the show was open for people to view.
Senior Grace Hammond had two photos displayed in the gallery. Hammond’s images were both in the Surrealistic style.
“[They] show a lot of emotion through her eyes, seeing a relaxed state with different compositions,” said Hammond. “I wanted to go for something surrealist so it’s different in a fun way.”
Over in Intro To Ceramics class, Junior Megan Reeves made a sun and moon chain piece that was chosen by her teacher Jillian Downs.
“We had to make a project on chains connecting things so I thought about how the moon and sun are connected and I literally connected them together”.
Lastly Sophomore Alexis Graham in Drawing and Painting B had a drawing expressing her emotions.
“I didn’t expect it to make it in but when i showed my teacher she loved it and asked for my permission to put it in and i was ecstatic of the idea”, said Graham. “It touches a lot on anxiety and goes into everything going on around you and the stress of it”
Here are a couple more photos of other pieces that were in the Gallery for the show.
